Dr.Shanthi Ranganathan, honorary secretary of T.T. Ranganathan Clinical Research Foundation and Swami Dayananda Saraswathi Educational Society, has been chosen for the Avvaiyar award of Tamil Nadu Government for 2015. The award carries Rs 1 lakh, a gold medal and a citation.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, the award was instituted in 2012 by then chief minister J. Jayalalithaa to encourage women excelling in various fields.
