Vidya Mandir, Mylapore celebrated its Founders’ Day on Feb 3 at the school premises. This function marked the beginning of its year – long diamond jubilee celebrations to commemorate 60 years of service in the field of education. The chief guest was Dr. B. K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, chairman, BVB, Coimbatore.
The event began with sixty singers of the Vidya Mandir Choir Group, presenting three patriotic songs in Bengali, Malayalam and Tamil. N. Ravi, a member of the management committee, then addressed the gathering and recollected the important milestones in the history of the school.
Narmada Ramesh, a Tamil teacher, talked about the vision of the school’s founders – Subbalakshmi, Subbaraya Aiyar and Padmini Chari. The event ended with the unveiling of the Diamond Jubilee logo.
