Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha’s dance festival

The 115th year dance festival presented by Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will be held from Jan 18 – Mar 3. The event will be inaugurated by Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti on Jan 18. The title of ‘Nathya Kalasarathy’ will be conferred on Kuchipudi dancer Deepika Reddy by Dr. Preetha Reddy, executive vice – chairman, Apollo Hospitals. The chief guest is P. S. Prakash Rao, chief general manager, State Bank of India, Chennai Circle.

Performances will be given by Vijay Madhavan, disciple of guru Chitra Visweswaran, Mridula Anand, artistic director, Silambam Dance School and disciple of guru Sudharani Raghupathy. The event will be inaugurated at Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Musiri Subramaniam Salai, Mylapore, 5.30 p.m.

Highlights of the festival include performances by students of gurus Urmila Sathyanarayanan, V. P. Dhananjayan, Sreekala Bharath, Sheela Unnikrishnan, Roja Kannan, Anitha Guha, Padma. S. Raghavan and several others. At R. K. Swamy Auditorium, 5, Sundareswarar Street, Mylapore, 4 p.m. onwards.
