The priests at San Thome Cathedral are making small improvements at the basilica’s campus to enhance the experience for tourists and visitors. They are now arranging screenings of a short film on saint Thomas, who is believed to have stayed and preached here and whose body was buried here after he was killed at a place on St Thomas Mount.
The film is screened in the small auditorium in the saint’s tomb complex at the rear of the cathedral. It is screened four times a day at intervals and special shows are arranged for groups on request.
Efforts are also being made to post guides who can communicate in a few foreign languages. Catholic volunteers who are keen may contact the parish priest Fr. Mathias.
