A Navarathri utsav is being organised at the Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home from Sep 24 to Oct 3. The festival will be inaugurated by Swami Vimurtanandaji Maharaj, Manager of Ramakrishna Math on Sep 24 at 7.30 a.m. Morning events include upanyasams by Dr. M. V. Ananthapadmanabhachariar and harikatha by B. Suchitra.
In addition to this, music concerts have been organised at 6.30 p.m. everyday. Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty will inaugurate this event on Sep 24. The chief guest is Dr. A. Natarajan, former director of Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai. A performance by Nithyashri Mahadevan will follow the inaugural function. Other events include performances by Sikkil Mala Chandrasekar (flute) on Sep 25 and Revathy Krishna (veena) on Sep 27, bhajans by Sri Vidhya Vani Sangeetha Vidyalaya on Sep 28, a musical discourse by Vasundhra Rajagopal and group on Oct 2 and a Tamil drama “Samarpanam” by C. V. Chandramohan on Oct 3.
On Oct 2, Saraswathi Puja will be celebrated with a maha abhisekham for Goddess Saraswathi followed by Sri Lalitha Sahasranama parayanam and distribution of prasadam.
