Sanskrit scholar and a key person associated with the Madras Sanskrit College in Mylapore, B. Madhavan passed away on Saturday night ( June 28) at his residence in Luz. He was 89. He retired as AGM of the Indian Railways.
He was the son of K. Balasubramania Iyer and grandson of Justice V. Krishnaswamy Iyer whose 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated now and who was a founder of the Sanskrit College in Mylapore.
He was closely associated with the College in its academic and management affairs. He is mourned by Parvathi Madhavan and M. Anand and Ambika Anand. The family’s residence is at ‘Ashrama’, 28, Luz Church Road, Mylapore. Phone; 24992582/ 98400 87582.
