The community at Saint Lazarus Church in R. A. Puram is getting up a sound and light show on the Passion of Jesus Christ. The show will be on Saturday, April 12 on the church campus, from 7 p.m. onwards. The show enacts the days leading to the condemnation and death of Jesus on a cross.
Over 70 amateur actors, juniors and seniors of the church community will play small and big roles in this play for which sets have been designed and erected by church well wishers.
Set designer Mari and senior volunteer Jerry said that the community has polled money, talent and time to put up this show that is being held on the eve of the Holy Week, a week that winds up the Lenten season and commemorates the events that led to the crucifixion of Jesu and his resurrection.
The show runs for two hours and Mari said the actors have been practising for some weeks now. The show is open to all and the campus is expected to overflow this weekend.
