A Chithirai Kalai Vizha has been planned at Sri Kapali Temple in Mylapore from April 18. The fest opens with a dance drama ‘ Venkatadri Vaibhavam’ presented by the dancers of guru Krishnakumari Narendran.
Then follow a series of concerts – V. Sankaranarayanan ( Aptil 19); Madurai T N S Krishna (April 20); Ramakrishnamurthy ( April 21); Ragam Sisters ( April 22); S. Mahathi (April 23); Chitra Poornima ( April 24) and Sashwathi Prabhu ( April 25).
All of them will be accompanied by senior artistes. The concerts are held in the Navaratri mantap and start at 6.30p.m.
This fest follows the well attended series of concerts for the Panguni season. The concerts are open to all.
Temple trustee P. Vijaykumar Reddy says the temple plans to host music and dance concerts regularly and the enthusiasm of the rasikas is very encouraging.
