Many booths ran out of forms on Sunday when the Election Commission ran a drive to enlist new voters and allow voters to make corrections in the electoral list.
The process, as the nation prepares for a General Election next month was across the country but in the Mylapore area many people said that the designated polling booths ran out of forms in an hour.
BJP local leader Lakshmi Suresh who was doing the rounds of the booths on Sunday morning called to say that there were staff at the booths but they had only a limited number of forms with them.
She said she set up a counter at a Mandaveli school, made copies of the various forms and gave them to people who came by after noon.
Clearly, there are still many people who want to be in the voters list and many who want to get corrections effected in the records.
EC officers have said it is more important to ensure that your name and address is on the voters list, which is what counts at the booth. The EPIC card is a mere identity card.
