Cricket teams of city schools are having a busy season as the academic year draws to an end. Besides the privately-run tourneys, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) tourneys for city schools are in their final lap now.
The quarterfinal league stage for the TNCA tourney for under-14 players is seeing some stiff competition. Four Mylapore schools are in the fray now; P. S. Senior, St. Bede’s. Vidya Mandir and San Thome.
These and others have been playing each other to decide on the semi final stage.
On Monday, P S Senior lost of St. Bede’s and Vidya Mandir lost to San Thome. In the first mentioned match, P S Senior’s R Keshav made 34, H Abhinav made 25 and bowler Prabhav took 3 for 29.
St. Bede’s S Abhishek made 66 runs.
In San Thome’s match, bowler Elavarasan took three for seven to destroy Vidya Mandir.
