OSTEOPOROSIS AND ORTHOPAEDIC CAMP

On January 19, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul jointly with Cipla is conducting a free osteoporosis and orthopedic consultation camp for men and women above 35 years of age. Patients with back, hip and knee pain, smokers, alcoholics, menopause-related issues and those using steroids or painkillers can make use of this camp. Bone strength will be assessed. From 9 a.m. to 12 noon at National Shrine of St. Thomas Basilica, Santhome.

KALA POSHAKAM UTSAV

From January 20, a seven-day festival of dance will be held at Alwarpet. Performances will include Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, and Vilasini Natyam, by artists from different cities as well from the USA. Organised by Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation (Mylapore Trio), the programmes begin at 5.30 p.m. onwards. SPIRITUAL LECTURE BY SWAMI BODHANANDA

On January 21, 22 and 23, vedanta exponent and management guru Swami Bodhananda will speak on ‘Hindu Dharma for 21st Century’. High Court Judge V. Ramasubramanian will inaugurate the programme. A Kundalini awakening meditation will be held on January 22 and 23 at 7 a.m. The talk is at 7 p.m. at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, East Mada Street, Mylapore and is organised by Sambodh Foundation. NAVEENA SWAYAMVARAM

On January 26, a Naveena swayamvaram will be conducted for all Brahmins. Organised by Sree Lalitha Trust, there is an online registration as well as spot registration at the venue.
