This evening from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., a music fest with a difference is taking place at Music Academy, Alwarpet. It is an exclusive music fest to showcase the talents of differently abled artistes along with versatile artistes.
Guest of honour Sudha Raghunathan will inaugurate the festival. Carnatic vocalist Dr. Gayathri Sankaran will be conferred with the title ‘Distinguished Differently Abled Artiste’. She has created a Braille notation for visually challenged artistes.
A music performance by prize winners of the competition will take place, followed by a violin jugalbandhi by Dr. M. Chandrasekaran (Carnatic) and Dr. N. Rajam (Hindustani), and this is open to the public. Donor passes are available at the venue.
This programme is conducted by the Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel in association with Vodafone and a few Rotaract Clubs including that of Dr. MGR College of Arts & Science.
