A variety of images of Lord Krishna dominate the exhibition and sale that Poompuhar has set up at C P Art Centre campus in Alwarpet. This campus is at the east end of Eldams Road.
From simple images that cost about one hundred plus rupees to some intricate works of art which cost a few thousand rupees, the show is a feast for the eyes of people who appreciate traditional art.
The sale is timed for the Sri Krishna jayanthi festival this week and is open through the day.
State minister for rural industries P. Mohan inaugurated the show last week. With him was Sheela Rani Chunkath, IAS who heads the TN State Handicrafts Corporation which manages Poompuhar.
