As part of the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the Park organised by Sundaram Finance, 2 school students – one from Massachusetts, USA and another from Dubai – presented a mikeless Kutcheri this Sunday (7 July) morning at the Chess Square of the Nageswara Rao Park.
At 6.30am, 13 year old Aditya Ravikanth, a class 9 student of Acton Boxborough High School, Massachusetts, USA presented a 45minute kutcheri. Aditya who has been learning music from Guru Tara Anand presented songs that included Vinayaka (Hamsadhwani Ragam/Adi Taalam), Sadaachaleswaram (Bhoopalam/Adi) and Meenakshi Me Mudam (Poorvikalyani/ Adi).
Following this, 10 year old S. Sowmya Lakshmi ( seen in the photo), a class 6 student of Elite English School, Dubai presented a lively kutcheri. Sowmya Lakshmi has been learning music from Guru Palakkad Vijay Kumar.
Both the Carnatic vocal artistes were accompanied on the mirudangam by R. Kishore (Guru: R. Ramesh) and on the violin by Parur Ananthalakshmi (guru: M.S. Anantharaman/ M.S. Krishnaswamy).
