Residents, shop owners and office workers in parts of R A Pura, Abhiramapuram and Alwarpet were in for a pleasant surprise on Thursday when the regular power shut down was not enforced.
Power was to have been cut from 9 am to 5 pm. This is a cyclic cut that TANGEDCO carries out in addition to the two hour daily ‘cut’.
But today, this did not happen. Local engineers said that they followed orders from the top.
