Mylaporeans woke up to a muggy morning this Friday, unusual for a city which has still been experiencing a nip in the air at night and temperatures rising to 30 degrees plus during the daytime.
And then, after 10 a.m. the skies opened and there was a downpour that lasted for about 30 minutes. A steady drizzle carried on till noontime.
The downpour will give residents as well as Chennai Corporation civic officers an indication of the civic problems people may face in their backyards when it rains.
In many colonies, water stagnated on the main streets and in some key roads. Such scenes were seen in R A Puram, Abhiramapuram and in Alwarpet.
