Dance students will perform at a two-day fest in Mylapore that celebrates the memory and work of late dance guru K J Sarasa.
The event is on Feb.7 and 8.
The late guru’s students Sailaja, Srekala Bharath, A Lakshman and Urmila Satyanarayanan besides juniors who studied dance at Sarasa’s school called Sarasalaya will perform on the first evening of this fest Bharatitya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai.
Another set of students – Shanmuga Sundaram, Kavita Ramu, Bhargavi Gopalan, Swarnamalya and Lavanya Shankar will perform, on Feb.8 evening.
The guests for the two evenings are Padma Subrahmanyam, Sudharani Raghupathy, Chitra Visweswarn, C V Chandrasekar, Leela Samson and S Raghuram.
Dancer Shanmuga Sundaram has co-ordinated this event.
Sarasa trained and groomed hundreds of students at her academy in the Mylapore neighborhood.
