Prayathnam is organising a workshop for Bharatanatyam students on Dec.11 between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. at P. S. School hall, Mylapore.
The theme will be “Education, Elevation and Entertainment”. This will be an interactive workshop and will address various aspects of Bharatanatyam in its understanding, appreciation and awareness.

IIT Alumni Club, Mylapore in association with Bilva Music is organising a workshop on ‘Music and the Mind’ on December 1 at Gokhale Sastri Institute.
Speakers include Mohana Narayanan, counsellor, and Dr. Padmapriya Dore, a practicing paediatrician. Followed by a flute concert by K. Bhaskaran. The event includes a special buffet veg. dinner, and an audio CD as a take-away. Registration fee is Rs.500 per person. Limited seats.

The Music Forum is organising a two day lec dem mela on Dec. 8 and 9 at Arkay Convention Centre, Luz, Mylapore from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Udayalur Kalyanarama Bhagavathar, Madurai T.N.Seshagopalan and O.S.Thyagarajan are going to speak on Bhajana Sampradayam and operas. A symposium on propagating music to the next generation and a hilarious session on Haasyam is also part of the schedule on Dec.9.

Natyarangam, the dance wing of Narada Gana Sabha, is organising its annual Natyasangraham camp, for senior dancers and teachers at Thennangur from January 18 to 20.
The faculty this year consists of Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar, convenor and bharatanatyam dancer Malavika Sarukkai, vocalists Ranjani-Gayatri, Pushkala Gopal (Aharya), Dr Sudha Seshayyan (Vachika) and Jyotsna Narayanan (Yoga).
