Commerce wing of Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP), South Chennai district is conducting a free medical camp for Auto drivers and Taxi drivers on August 25. TALKS

Probus Club of Chennai will celebrate the Madras Day on August 25. V. Sriram, a columnist and environmentalist will speak on ‘The Craziest City-Chennai’ in the context of celebration of Chennai week.This will be held at 10 a.m. at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Alwarpet.

There will be a talk by Dr. Goda Venkateswara Sastrigal on Bhartrhari’s Neeti Satakam, on August 27 at 6 p.m. Discourse by Kousalya Sivakumar on Nilakanta Dikshitar’s Siva Leelarnavam, on August 28 at 6 p.m. These will be held at Tattvaloka Auditorium, Eldams Road. Open to all.

88th BIRTHDAY OF ACADEMICIAN – MUSICIAN T. V. KUPPUSWAMY

88th birthday of academician cum musician T. V. Kuppuswamy will be commemorated on August 24 and 25. This is organised by Chandilyan Memorial Trust Chennai and Lakshmi Kuppuswamy Trust Delhi.  A CD on rare kritis of Venkatraman Bhagavathar sung by Chitra Seshadri, will be released, at 6 p.m. Veena concert by Jayanthi Kumaresh at 6.30 p.m. on August 24. There will be a vocal concert by P.
