FILM FESTIVAL

Egyptian film festival titled Women in Egypt. On May 12, “Cairo 6, 7, 8” will be screened at 7.45 p.m. at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Kasturi Ranga Road. Ph: 2821 2652.

EXHIBITION 

A painting exhibition on Sages and Saints will be held from May 11 to 14 at C. P. Art Centre, Eldams Road, Alwarpet. On display will be 108 paintings on different saints. Open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sri Parvati Gallery is hosting a painting exhibition on Animal Kingdom. The show will be on till May 31 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 28 / 160, Eldams Road, Alwarpet.

Figurative art exhibition is on at Prakrit Arts. On display are works of artists on various themes. Open till May 31. The gallery is located at 102, Greenways Road Extn, R. A. Puram.

SALE

The Hastakala Craft Fair is having a sale of saris, jewellery, terracotta items, and furniture at Sri Sankara Hall, TTK Road. On till May 22.

Shealaya is organising a jewellery exhibition of formal and party wear designs. Priced between Rs.250 to 3500. It will be held at C. P. Art Centre, Eldams Road. The sale is on May 12 and 13.

CLUB MEET

Golden Years Club is having its third meeting at St.Bede’s School on May 13 from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.  The members will be celebrating Mother’s Day with games and high tea during the meet. TALK

WORKSHOP

Vanilla Children Place and Money-Wizards, an IIM alumni venture present a 10-day workshop where children learn all about earning, saving and investing. ACTIVITY FOR KIDS

Chennai Citi Centre is having a summer fest fun activity for kids. The host has created a large model of a cruise ship in the mall’s atrium. Kids can enter the ship on paying an entry fee of Rs.20 and go around the ship and take pictures. On offer are games, competitions, caricature, face painting and traditional indoor games like dhaayakattam, pallanguzhi, aadu puli aattam and goli.
