A. Sukkubai, aged 86 passed away on Jan.10. She was a resident of Mylapore for over five decades.
She was the wife of late J. Kothandaraman from Nallamangudi, Tanjore.
She was a member of Karpagambal Suvasini Sangam and was closely associated with the sangam’s activities.
She was actively involved in the presentation of Sahasranam Kasu-malai and golden parrot to goddess Karpagambal of Mylapore.
She was affectionately known as Kalkandu Patti, as she distributed kalkandu during ‘pradosam’ days to children at Kapali Temple.
She taught Lalitha Sahasranamam to many people.
