December season buzz

SAFE launched its 16th edition of its music fest at Sastri Hall, Luz. It honoured gurus T V Goapalakrishnan, V. Subrahmanyam and Trichy Sankaran on the opening evening (photo on right). Concerts are held every evening and are open to all.

A mini musical festival of Namasankeer-thanatarangams of pujyasri narayana tirtha will be held from Dec. 9 to 11at Sringeri Pravachana Mandiram located at 9, Sringeri Mutt Road, R. A. Puram. Concerts will be held from 5 p.m. onwards. Open to all.

Music Forum and Sruti magazine present ‘lec dem mela’ on manodharma in Carnatic music at Arkay Convention Center, Luz from Dec.10 to 12 at 9 a.m. onwards.

The annual Isai Natya Nataka Vizha of Narada Gana Sabha will be inaugurated from Dec.16 by Pujya Sri Prema Pandurang, Kshetropasana.

MusicUniv presents a 3-day festival from Dec. 17 to 19.
The focus is on the three basic aspects of music – melody, harmony and rhythm.
Each day will feature a prominent artist from different genres (Hindustani, Western Classical/Contemporary and Classical Dance) in a lecture-concert format, followed by a discussion led by a prominent Carnatic vocalist. It will be held between 9 a.m. and 12 noon at Sivagami Petachi Auditorium, Luz Church Road. Shubha Mudgal is the guest on day one.
