Navaratri Mela (exhibition cum sale of products by Women Enterpreneurs support) at Karpagambal Kalyana Mandapam, South Mada Street, Mylapore from Sept.27 to Oct.6.
On sale are saris, salwars, jewellery, handicraft, jute products, jams, pickeld, appalams and snacks. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, East Mada Street, Mylapore is putting up an Kolu at its premises from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5. A journalistic review about the Kolu put up by the Bhavan is invited and the selected three reviews will be awarded prizes in a function on the last day of the Kolu festival. No entry fee.
Canara Bank is organising ‘Can Utsav’, exhibition cum sale for Navaratri by women entrepreneurs.It will be held at Karpagambal Kalyana Mandapam, South Mada Street, Mylapore till Oct.6. Kreative Explorerz, Mandaveli is organising a Kolu festival from September 28 to October 5. There will be kutcheris held from 5 p.m. onwards every day. The entry for this performance is free and is open to children of the age groups 5 to 12 years. All are invited to visit this festival. A music workshop is organised for children at Bamboola. They will be taught Namavalis, Slokams, Bhajans and Krithis. The pieces are set in simple and easy to learn tunes for kids. The last day will culminate in a small performance by the children for their parents and friends.The workshop will be held from September 24 to 28, 1 hour per session (9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.). Children between ages 4 to 12 years can participate. A three day Navaratri art and craft workshop will be held on October 3 to 5 from 10.30 a. m. to 12.30 p.m. This is open to children between the ages of 4-10. On September 28 at 5 p.m. M. Chandrasekharan, veena maestro will be conferred with the Saraswathi award by P. V. Krishnamurthy, retd. Director General, Doordarshan Kendra. The event will be held at The C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation, 1, Eldams Road, Alwarpet.
A three-day Navaratri series of kutcheris will be held at Nageswara Rao Park, Luz from Sept. 30 to Oct.2 at 6.30 a.m. This is hosted by Sundaram Finance. Young artisres are featured.

A special discourse on Narayaneeyam will be held daily at 7.30 a.m.
Carnatic concerts will be held from 6 p.m. onwards.
On Oct 5. there will be maha abhishekam to Devi Saraswathi at 10 a.m. followed by Lalitha Sahasranama Parayanam.
