Natyarangam ( the dance wing of Narada Gana Sabha) presents two Bharatanatyam performances – of Keerthi Panikkar Bellal and of Uttia Barua, both alumni of the Dhananjayans on Oct.15 (Saturday) 6 p.m. onwards.
Keerthi will present ‘Shaktiprabhaavam’ a thematic nrityopahaaram ( to go with the Navarathri season) and Uttiya Barua ‘Sri Krishnacharitam’ as the main items.
For the first time, mandolin artiste and disciple of Mandolin Srinivas, Prasanna Bellal will be accompanying the Bharatanatyam orchestra.

The fifth edition of the Nartaka dance fest presented by Natyanjali Trust is on at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore. It showcases male dancers.
This weekend features dance recitals on Saturday by L. Narendra Kumar ( Bharatanatyam, Chennai) and Murali Mohan and Tushar Bhatt (Kathak, Bangalore) and on Sunday, Sinam Basu Singh ( Manipuri, Imphal) and Srikanth (Bharatanatyam). Open to all. Contact – 98413 -19695
International Federation of Kuchipudi Artist (Regd) IFKA is organising Chennai Kuchipudi dance fest 2011 on Oct 14 and 15.
The two days dance fest is dedicated to celebrated the 83rd birthday of Dr. Vempati Chinna Sathyam. It will be held at Narada Gana Sabha from 6.15 onwards.
Kala Mandir Trust is organising Daasa Rasa Ratna, a musical concert featuring the selected compositions of Haridaasas of Karnataka by T. V. Ramprasadh.
It will be held on Oct. 22 at 6.15 p.m. at the Music Academy. This will be followed by classical Indian dance by Anita Ratnam.
