‘Humour’ V. Lakshmanan a resident of Mylapore for the last 40 years, passed away on September 17. He was 75 years.
He was born at Padur village and did his schooling and college in Kumbakonam. He retired as a Deputy Thasildar from the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
He was a very active member of Humour Club, Chennai and served as its Secretary in the Mylapore Chapter for the last 25 years.
Lakshmanan was a popular figure in the Chitrakulam neighbourhood and was known for his short articles on thought provoking themes which he used to write on the boards placed near the Desikar Temple.
He helped many needy families get their family pension sanctioned. He was also the head of Pensioners’ Association for the Mylapore area.
