Yet another dance spectacle follows the one hosted by IDA this past week.
This time, Natyarangam, the dance wing of Narada Gana Sabha is organising 15th annual bharathanatyam festival titled Bharatham Kathai Kathaiyaam.
The unique feature of this fest is that scholar-writer Sujatha Vijayaraghavan, who is also part of the Natyarangam team has chosen a variety of short stories to form the basis of each dance piece. These have been visualised with the help of professionals.
At the fest, the story will be narrated and then performed as a dance piece.
The stories are by well known names like Sujatha and Sivasankari.
Dancers like the Narasimhacharis, Bragha Bessel, Nartaki Nataraj and A. Lakshman
The fest is from August 12 to 17, 6.15 p.m. daily at Sathguru Gnanananda hall.
The festival will be inaugurated on August 12 by R. Seshasayee, Executive Vice Chairman, Ashok Leyland Ltd. Guru R. Rhadha will be honoured on the occasion.
