Andhra Bank has opened a new branch at R. A. Puram. The inauguration was held on May 20.
The branch was inaugurated by Justice R. Sudhakar, Judge, Madras High Court in the presence of R. Ramachandran, Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Bank.
On the occasion scholar Pappu Venugopal Rao, secretary of The Music Academy, Sikkil Gurucharan, Carnatic music vocalist and Smitha Madhav, classical dancer were felicitated for their achievements in the field of arts.
L. A. Sundaram of Lazarus Church Road where the branch is located was greeted for being the first depositor.
The bank has lockers facilities. Apart from the standard services that banks offer Andhra Bank offers insurance savings account, says N. Hariharan, branch manager.
“We also undertake Western Union money transfer and sell gold coins,” he adds.
Our aim is to be a residential area-based bank and cater to the needs of the local people, he says.
An on-site ATM will start functioning in this premises shortly.
