The 15th Arivukkalanjiyam Award 2010 competitions for children will be held on October 24 from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at M.T.S. Academy, Mylai Thiruvalluvar Tamizh Sangam, ‘Sri Karpagavalli Vidyalaya’, 4, Mangollai, East Mada Street, Mylapore.
This project tests the skills of children who are in classes 1 to 9.
Around 10 competitions like recitation, oration, story telling, mono- acting, fancy dress, essay writing in Tamil and English and drawing competition will be held for children in three different levels.
Interested children need to register on or before October 18 at the address mentioned above. You can also contact the academy at 2495 1415 or e-mail: mtsacademy@yahoo.co.in.
The winners of each level will be awarded the ‘Arivukkalanjiyam Award’ worth Rs.2000.
This project is organised by the MTS Academy and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India.

would like to inform too that my son had particpated and has done exceedingly well winning 8 of the 10 competitions. he was the recipient of the arivukalanjiam award in 2008 from group A-class I to III. was featured in hindu. he was also featured in your paper in 2004- issue dated april 10- His name is JR MUGIL VANJINATH. he has consistently won several prizes in thirukural recitation, oratoricall etc. organised by MTS, VHP., kasturba children’sclub, etc. was also interviewed by All India Radio, chennai kendra for his achievements for further details and a feature article cum interview in the mylapore times/ any paper on my son, pl contact 9444046103.
