On September 19, San Thome High Road was filled with devotees who wanted to immerse the images of Lord Vinayakar into the sea.
Srinivasapuram beach near Foreshore Estate, located off San Thome High Road was the immersion point.
Large images were transported through lorries and carts. There were immersed with the help of catamarans and cranes.
Some people carried the images themselves to immerse them. A large number of people had gathered to witness this event.
The immersing of the deity’s images follows the Vinayakar Chartuthi festival that took place on September 11. Click here to see more pictures of the immersion.
